What is Army Camp?
Mahatma Gandhi quote;
“Strength of numbers is the delight of the timid. The Valiant in spirit glory in fighting alone”

However, we are sorry to say that in Clash of Clans you need Strength of numbers to defeat enemy village! Army Camp is the key building for your attack in term of quantity. More number of Army Camp and more upgraded level provide you more troop capacity.

Easy math here, more troops is better. With maximum troop capacity, if you attack weak base, you have the luxury to deploy less troop. However, without maximum troop capacity, if you don’t have enough troops at the end of your attack, you will feel bad to lose at 49% or stare at undefended Storage.

Notes that troops in Army Camp are for attack purpose only, they will never help defend your village and you will never see any troops in Army Camp of enemy village when you attack them.

Your troops are stationed in Army Camps. Build more camps and upgrade them to muster a powerful army.

Town Hall level 1 and 2 = 1 Army Camp
Town Hall level 3 and 4 = 2 Army Camp
Town Hall level 5 and 6 = 3 Army Camp
Town Hall level 7 and above = 4 Army Camp

Town Hall level 5 – Maximum troop capacity = 45 x 3 = 135 troops
Town Hall level 6 – Maximum troop capacity = 50 x 3 = 150 troops
Town Hall level 7, 8 – Maximum troop capacity = 50 x 4 = 200 troops
Town Hall level 9 – Maximum troop capacity = 55 x 4 = 220 troops
Town Hall level 10 – Maximum troop capacity = 60 x 4 = 240 troops

How important I should prioritize and upgrade Army Camp?
As mentioned about Strength of numbers, you should focus on upgrade Army Camp to get more troop capacity as soon as possible. Either you are trophy hunter or farmer; you need to rely on army to attack other player’s village to gain trophy or Resources.

Why I heard that Town Hall level 7 is a best place to stay and farm?
Town Hall level 7 has significant advantage over Town Hall level 6 by access to an additional Army Camp. Fielding 50 more troops increase attack power by 33%. This is one of the reasons some players say that you don’t need to stay at Town Hall 6 for too long.

Try to upgrade everything at Town Hall 7 before moving on because Town Hall 8 gives you zero increase of troop capacity while Town Hall 9 gives you 20 more troops which equal to only 10% increase.

Defense Tactics for Army Camp placement

• Army Camp has high hit points which help slowing enemy advancement while your defense buildings shoot at them.
• Army Camp is the only buildings in the game that occupy 5x5 spaces. It can be placed outside Wall 2 space apart to further extend the deployment area of enemy.

Attack Tactics against Army Camp
If Army Camp is out of any defense building range, try to deploy few Archers to destroy it before launching full assault.
